- It's difficult to use birds, though we did see a bird in the Season 1 finale.

- When you created the character of John Locke, did you draw some of his philosophies from the British philosopher John Locke?
- Yes, many of the names on the show that were taken from philosophers were chosen carefully.
- Damon and Carlton admit defeat:
- Question: "Why did you waste four weeks of trying to open the hatch in the first season and Boone dies in the process and we come to find out that there's a back door, like, twenty feet away that really isn't hidden, and if you say that that door can only be opened from the inside too, then I would say that it would've been easier to open that door than the actual hatch."
