Lothar Hinze is the voice actor who dubs the part of John Locke in the German language broadcasts of Lost during the first two seasons of lost and the up until "Stranger in a Strange Land." Following the death of his son, Matthias Hinze (also a voice actor for Tom Brennan), Lothar Hinze quit the voice acting business and was replaced by Ernst Meincke as John Locke's German voice beginning with "Tricia Tanaka Is Dead". The season 3 episodes still featuring Hinze's voice were later redubbed with Meincke for future broadcasts and the German DVD release.
