• Might be distributing drugs via Apollo Candy Bars, keeping station workers compliant.
  • Other food distribution might be via fruity beverages.
    • As drinks play a prominent role in the "Pilot, Part 2" in-flight flashbacks, its possible that maybe Hackett had told Oceanic employees to place his psychotropic compound in the beverages in order to alter the passengers' perception of the crash.
• The Apollo Candy Bars might also contain a "psychotropic compound" which would explain some or all of the weird things on the Island.
